Price reductions on our green beans!

OK, one of our regular riders is out for several months, so we have several horses that are for sale at reduced prices which do not reflect their quality and potential. It is the reality that they need to be in training and our days are too full to fit more riding into the schedule.

Westerleigh WF (aka Joy) - $14,000 until May 1st (then I will have figured out cloning with a good ankle and she could get the jump schooling she needs to go on as a show hunter). Last Fall she was WTC, single flying changes, lateral work and doing small grids and cavaletti.

Wallstreet Rose (Gretta) - $2500
Last year she was WTC, lateral work, had XC training prior to being a super broodmare for us. Fancy, light to the aids and smart. Easy keeper, easy breeder, not an Alpha, superb mother.

Wendolyn WF (Lynnie) - $8000 firm

Started last summer/fall with 60 days undersaddle. WTC, lunging, basic chute work, still growing at 15.3, should mature to 16.1 +/-. Went back to work this week and it's like she never missed a day. Very, very smart and fancy.

Windrose WF (Bailey) - $7000

Started last fall (60 days), needs an experienced rider as she is a talented athletic horse with big gaits. Massive stride and powerful hind end, good prospect for top levels. Still maturing at 16.0 hands, should max out 16.2.

Waverleigh WF (Izzy) - $3500

Has basic ground work but growing like a lanky girl can. Needs maturing time - should finish 17.0 hands. Elegant and powerful mover with strong character.

Video Day! Video Day!

It' may be Friday April 3rd in some people's lives, but it is Spring Video Weekend here at Watermark Farm! That means the camera will be out, braided horses will be in abundance and many jumps will be jumped! And that is just today!

We're setting up a jump chute in a few minutes and then getting the polish on several horses that are seeking new riders and new homes! Check back here, on Facebook or our You Tube channel for the newest footage.

FINALLY!!!! (whew!)

So the BIG revisions are well started on the website!!! I have the stallion pages still to go and then some riding horse photos to add to individual pages...but it is the SALES PAGES that have gotten the biggest overhaul!!

CHECK it out!! What do you guys think? Does it work better???

I knew scrolling so much was getting to be a real pain in the neck but the idea of highlighting and deleting so many hours of hard work was off-putting to say the least!!! 8-o

So some feedback on the changes would be much appreciated! If you all say it's terrible - I'm ok with it and can revert back to the old system. If you all like it - that's awesome!!! It's much less labor intensive this way - only 1 page per horse to update, instead of 2-4!!! :)

The Farm Page continues to blossom and gain fans around the globe. Jordan leads the way with several dozen new fans coming to us from the Middle East. France, Argentina, and a few Western European countries also contribute a few more each week. Thank you all for the support, the comments and the LIKES! This Preying Mantis is one of several that is inhabiting the bushes near the tackroom. We need to prune them back (they're overtaking the entire space) but there are dozens of these charming insects living there. Later in the fall that project will happen!! These guys deserve to have a safe haven!

We've had a break in the heat and humidity, so the sunrises are lovely again! :) Nothing better to start a day out the right way but having a glorious bit of bright sky as an omen of good things to come! Speaking of starting the day, I've enjoyed going back in the Voices of the Chronicle of the Horse and reading the blogs that are there. Catherine's pieces are particularly interesting (perhaps it's the double Aries thing), but this one is one of the best I've read thus far...I too have my morning rituals and preferred way of going about doing the various things that make up the day here on the farm.

Wolfgang WF and a bit of clarity...

So "Puck" was the cutest of cute babies when he was born. Flashy markings with tons of personality, sweet nature and very easy to work with...perfect sales prospect, right? Well, life didn't take it easy on him and he was injured by his pasture buddies. It was a situation where euthanizing would be the easy choice but he was so vibrant and SOUND, we opted for care and treatment.

So Puck is still sound and BIG!!! He is 17 hands and substantial in his build - think Waldaire-size but a bit bigger as he's not done filling out. He is ready to find a home with a rider who wants to do a little of everything at a low level. You might ask what 'low level' means...so I will elaborate as simply typing it does not seem to have been clear enough to the many people who have called & emailed to inquire about him. A low level horse in our program is one that is going to be suitable for 1st level dressage; he may also learn to jump over logs and such on the trail; he might enjoy going out with other horse friends on trail rides to see what the world holds beyond the arena. 

A low level horse is not one that is an FEI dressage prospect. A low level horse is not a jumper prospect - at any level. A low level horse is not a Preliminary (or higher) level event prospect. 

Puck is priced so that he might find an appropriate owner with low level aspirations. Any of our other sales horses could/would be more suitable for those who have higher level goals. If he does not sell, he will enjoy a fine life here on the farm - someday if we need a babysitter gelding - he could be "Uncle Puck" for the weanlings. So, hopefully that clears up why he is priced as he is, what the future holds for him and the difference in a youngster that is priced at $20,000 vs. $2500. There is a reason...

So if you have higher level goals and dreams, contact Anne to discuss which of the other horses might be suitable for your ambitions. There is room for negotiation with several of them that have not been injured and they have loads of talent...just not the fancy white markings that this guy totes around.
