Some Fun for our Friends and Fans to End the Year!

Things here on the farm are busy, busy, busy! Which is always good. We have quite a few horses joining our training program, so check back often for links to their pages and new photos!

We are trying to encourage more interaction from our supporters on Facebook and for any followers here on the blog too. There are a great many photos from over the years on our FB page HERE, so if you want to play along, go ahead and flip through as many as you would like and send us the link(s) to your Top 10! We will announce the winners to begin the New Year for a bit of fun!


There is a Group Lesson this coming Saturday at 2PM - please email or message either me or Anne@watermark-farm.net to sign up. We will make the decision as to the indoor or outdoor early on Friday AM, so if there is demand, we will split into 2 groups inside - a 2PM and a 3:15PM.


There is a Long Lining Clinic set for December 8th. You can sign up for that by emailing me (Ellie@watermark-farm.net) or calling Anne on her cell.

11,900 FANS! THANK YOU!

Facebook is an interesting creature. No, it really is an entity of it's own! We rolled 11,900 fans yesterday and are motoring along closer and closer to 12,000...which is just huge.

I'll be working on a celebratory album for that milestone...there are some ideas floating around but it is something that had to be commemorated.

But for what it's worth, our most popular countries are Jordan, Argentina, Greece, the US, France, UK and Czech Republic. There are no US cities in our Top 10. It's definitely neat to think that we're more popular overseas than here at home! Thank you to all our foreign friends, fans and supporters! You guys are awesome!!! :)

Maybe I should start labeling these sort of posts as "Catching Up" or "Weekly Wrap Up" or something...any suggestions?

The Farm Page continues to blossom and gain fans around the globe. Jordan leads the way with several dozen new fans coming to us from the Middle East. France, Argentina, and a few Western European countries also contribute a few more each week. Thank you all for the support, the comments and the LIKES! We really appreciate the time that you take to include our farm in your daily interest list! THANK YOU!!!

This Preying Mantis is one of several that is inhabiting the bushes near the tackroom. We need to prune them back (they're overtaking the entire space) but there are dozens of these charming insects living there. Later in the fall that project will happen!! These guys deserve to have a safe haven!

We've had a break in the heat and humidity, so the sunrises are lovely again! :) Nothing better to start a day out the right way but having a glorious bit of bright sky as an omen of good things to come! Speaking of starting the day, I've enjoyed going back in the Voices of the Chronicle of the Horse and reading the blogs that are there. Catherine's pieces are particularly interesting (perhaps it's the double Aries thing), but this one is one of the best I've read thus far...I too have my morning rituals and preferred way of going about doing the various things that make up the day here on the farm.

There is something about the best laid plans...

Around 3AM a few nights ago it occurred to me that I have not had video footage of the sales horses (Wendy, Lacey, Wilona, Wylie, Kitty, etc.) with me on them! Now there is plenty of video on the Farm Channel, but mostly with Junior riders or a professional.  Lots of those kinds of videos!

Hmmm. "Would people prefer video of me riding, rather than shooting?" I wonder. So, I've made arrangements to have a few friends rotate through and operate the handycam. Mom will shoot stills like usual but we are expected to have a nice cooling trend over the weekend! That means full on dressage tack and a real, bonafide DQ in the saddle! Now I'm not sure if this new endeavor will help to sell the horses but if they will put up with my injured self, it proves how tolerant they really are.

So check back over the weekend and early next week for the new videos!

Ok, I'll start with the THANK YOU portion of this post...

THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts to all of our fans and friends on Facebook for the support, the comments, the LIKES and feedback about our farm and horses. We passed 9800 Fans yesterday and it is very exciting to think how close 10,000 really is. So take a second and think about that...almost 10,000 people have taken a second or 2 and clicked LIKE on our fan page. Just amazing!
