Show results!!!

I'll start with the big thank you's - Melissa gets major props for helping to clean the girls and shooting photos, Sara gets them for riding like the pro that she is, both Mom Rawle and Mom Gartland drove with all their experience and were the ultimate horse show moms making sure we all had drinks and a big thanks goes out to Chuck for being our cheering squad!

Adelaide was Reserve Champion of the Baby Green division with 2 Second places and 2 Thirds. This was her first outing over fences, so we were very pleased and she had a blast!


































Kitty was also Reserve Champion of the Novice Hunter division with 2 Seconds, a Third and a Fourth. Kitty was second in the hack!!!! It was a real treat to get to watch Kitty and Sara jump 'round together!!!

















































Wendy and I hung out at ringside and just spent the afternoon baking in the sun. But she is there to get used to the show atmosphere and commotion more than to compete at this point. She's a real overachiever, so being patient and doing nothing is quite a challenge!































Sara also showed her Glenhaven Tanzania to a Reserve Champion in the Pleasure Hunter division!!!































It was a very hot day and quite a success!!!

So all you bargain shoppers out there!

As the economy is what is...I have been observing the saggy knees in my every day schooling breeches and lamenting the cost of new full seats. Well, the wallet need not despair any longer - there was a handy ebay seller parting with some breeches with the prices starting at $75...

Needless to say, some are in transit and will shortly be available here on the farm for closer inspection!

On the horsie front - the youngsters are heading off to Vince's in the morning for a bit of a hunter show for a change in routine. Kitty may be going along as the babysitter and hit a few classes along the way as well. Adelaide and Wendy are rounding out the group. Sara will get to don her Hunter Princess attire and I will possibly be seen in a hack class. (brace yourself Hunter World)

Yay! The tower is back in action!

So it was the power source that had gone down. The computer is all fixed and back to regular functions.

Who knew how annoying it would be to have to operate without a machine that just sits on the floor?

When the desktop was purchased back in '08, I went ahead and spent the extra $70 for on site/next business day repair plan. Best $$$ that's been spent in a while! :)

A tech will be out during business hours on Tuesday to fix the silent tower. How cool is that???

One thing is certain - the laptop is relieved!!!

Disaster Strikes!

So I wrapped up some web work fairly late last night, shut down the computer after backing up what was just finished and went to sleep. This morning well the desktop is DOA. Nada. No power. Nothing.

So, if you have a minute, just send me an email so the old address book can be rebuilt.

Yikes. What a mess.

Poor Lenovo...they will have a job and 1/2 ahead of them.

Thanks to the Susquehanna Equestrian Club

The Susquehanna Equestrian Club (Old People's Pony Club) came down to the farm the other evening and we had a lovely time giving them a quick tour and dressage demo. Then we all got down to the most important thing - DINNER!!! (or at least that seemed important to me) :) LOL The tamales were homemade, the cake was awesome and the guacamole was spectacular!

Here is a link (http://www.lancasterhorse.com/) to learn more about them and what they do. But from my perspective, they enjoyed seeing the horses, watching Atreo go and then chatting about different things afterward. Just a lovely group of ladies who enjoy horses.

The cut off date for our October inspection is August 11th, so please get your paperwork and fees organized and in to the office ASAP!!!!

(ok, so I fibbed - it isn't exactly the cut off date, it is the date that you save $$$$ by getting them in on time!)

To recap what's happened so far - (for Dressage Royal's two sons) Desperado was 11th in the Qualifier and Uno Don Diego was 9th in the FEI class for Six Year Olds.















They will advance to the Finals which is on Sunday.

Bill Alphin outdid himself!
