Reference Stallions in our breeding program

It is a blustery cold New Year's Day here at the farm, so I thought I'd post a bit of the historical stallions that have been used in our program with some photographs! :) The stallions are on the dam's side of the pedigree often as not, so I tried to specifically point to who's who in each horse's lineage. As time permits, I will continue to add photos and information as it relates to our horses...so please feel free to check back occasionally.

Enjoy!

This is Abglanz -

Who sired Absatz -

who sired Abundance...and so on with our sons, daughters, grandsons and daughters...

Also, Absatz is the sire of Anka (pictured here at age 20) who is the dam of the legendary Weltmeyer.

Weltmeyer

Weltmeyer & his sons - Wittinger, Wolkenstein II, Wolkentanz I & White Star.

Adios III (Waldaire's damsire) is also a grandson of Absatz.

This is Woermann, Warkant & Weltmeyer's paternal grandsire.

And this is Woermann's most prominent son - World Cup I.

Bold Ruler is the paternal grandsire of one of our prolific broodmares - Aly Alice by Aly North by Alydar (pictured right).

And this is Bold Lad who is a son of Bold Ruler.

This is Eiger I - who appears in Wallstreet Rose's paternal lineage.

Intentionally appears in Wallstreet Rose's damline.

Karin Rehbein and Donnerhall were international stars in the 90's for Germany. His genetics continue in Don William, Daylily, Dreamcatcher and Dream Girl WF.

This is Native Dancer who is also an ancestor of Aly Alice.

Neckar was one of the most improvement sires in Germany with a unprecedented successful racing career. He appears in the pedigrees of Waldaire (his get), Volante (As You Wish WF, Wilona WF), Ruben WF and all of Dressage Royal's get.

Neckar also sired Waidmannsdank (pictured right) who is an ancestor of Waldaire's.

Neckar's son Vollkorn was popular in Oldenburg and he sired Volturno who was very successful with Otto Ammermann (breeder, trainer, rider).

Volturno is Volante's sire, she produced one filly for us - As You Wish WF who in turn produced one filly - Wilona WF. Volturno was German Silver Medal Team Member, Silver medalist at the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games, 1978 World Three-Day Event Championships (Kentucky Horse Park, Lexington), Silver Medalist at the 1980 Alternate Olympics (Fontainebleau, France). Competed in 27 international three-day events, finishing first, second, or third in 20. Retired sound and became Europe's leading Warmblood three-day event sire. This is the plaque at Kentucky Horse Park where he is buried...

Angelo is Neckar's most illustrious offspring as he is Rubinstein's damsire. Speaking of Rubinstein, it would be foolish to leave out this remarkable progenitor...

Much of his movement is found in his paternal grandsire Romadour II.

This is Northern Dancer. (Aly Alice, Wallstreet Rose)

This is World Cup II by Woermann - he is one of Ruben's ancestors on his paternal line.

Fair Play is an ancestor of our super star broodmare of the 70's & 80's - Today I'm Trying and Wallstreet Rose & Aly Alice.

This is Today I'm Trying's paternal grandsire - To Market.

- Fair Trial sired Adamant's maternal grandsire Palestine -

Fair Trial also appears in the pedigree of Aly Alice and her offspring.

Teddy.
Today I'm Trying & Aurora's ancestor through her damline.

Volturno is Volante's sire. German Silver Medal Team Member, 1976 Montreal Olympic Games, 1978 World Three-Day Event Championships (Kentucky Horse Park, Lexington), 1980 Alternate Olympics (Fontainebleau, France). Competed in 27 international three-day events, finishing first, second, or third in 20. Retired sound and became Europe's leading Warmblood three-day event sire. This is the plaque at Kentucky Horse Park where he is buried...

War Admiral. (Adamant)

Furioso II was a popular sire in Germany and Ginger's Woodruff WF clearly shows the influence of this prolific stallion through his sire

Wolkentanz I -

Duft II is found on Waldaire's maternal line as great-great grandsire...most interestingly as the sire of Darling (DLG Champion) who sired Cindy Ishoy's Dynasty (Bronze Medal winner in Seoul '88) and is the full brother of Daktary - Wally's grandmother, who was also a Grand Prix horse here in the US. Schoolmistress Debutaunte (aka Deb) is also a granddaughter of Darling.

Dekor (& his descendants) also carries the influence of the D line throught his grandsire - Duellant. [pictured right]

Abundance also has the D line in his damline through Dominus-Dominant-Dolman-Detektiv...so it is safe to say that we are continuing to utilize the 'old' Hanoverian D line with our stock...

Whether we get a foal out of Debutaunte or not, I would be remiss to not mention her other illustrious ancestors - Wendekreis is her damsire -

and Wiesenbaum is her maternal grandsire.

Princequillo appears in the pedigrees of Achtung Again (Lily) through her dam Teasing Shadow and also with Aly Alice.

Rosentau is the sire of Janet's beloved Ruben WF. Rosentau is a descendant of the R line dressage dynasty.

Currently the D/R combination is carried on through the use of Dressage Royal (Donnerhall - Rubinstein).

Dekor also carried a more direct link to the foundation of those outstanding D & R bloodlines - the Shagya Arabian Ramses was his maternal great grandfather and Duellant was paternal great grandfather.

Gotthard is quickly found in Waldaire's pedigree and was highly thought of as a sire of international jumpers in his day. He was by the legendary sire Goldfish II who can be found in Abundance's pedigree as well.

This is Goldfisch II (sire of Gotthard) and Abundance's maternal great grandsire.

This is Nasrullah...(Aly Alice, Wallstreet Rose) a popular racing sire who has an interesting reputation & personality.

Warkant is the paternal grandsire of our lovely Wallstreet Rose. Like Weltmeyer, he is also by World Cup I.
